In response to Resident Biden’s continued assault on Americans’ gun rights, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a proclamation via Twitter that calls on his state’s legislature to pass a bill designating the Lone Star State as a Second Amendment “sanctuary state.”
“Biden is threatening our 2nd Amendment rights,” Abbott wrote. “He just announced a new liberal power grab to take away our guns. We will NOT allow this in TX. It’s time to get legislation making TX a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State passed and to my desk for signing.”
Abbott went on to commend Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey for signing legislation in his state on April 6 that bans law enforcement from enforcing any federal gun control laws that infringe upon the Second Amendment.
“This is what I’m seeking for Texas – a law to defy any new federal gun control laws,” Abbott further wrote. “It will make Texas a Second Amendment Sanctuary State. Legislation is moving in the Texas House and Senate. I look forward to signing it.”
On April 7, Hunter’s dad announced several new gun control measures in response to the Boulder false flag shooting at King Soopers, as well as the Atlanta massage parlor false flag shooting.
China Joe says these two reported incidents represent a “gun violence public health epidemic” in America that can only be cured by erasing portions of the Second Amendment and punishing law-abiding gun owners.
One day prior, the Texas House State Affairs Committee approved House Bill 2622 to make the state a Second Amendment sanctuary state. Abbott says he supports the bill, as it “would forbid Texas state agencies and local governments from enforcing new federal gun laws or rules.”
At a hearing last week, bill author Rep. Justin Holland told a committee that his legislation “does not and cannot prevent federal government from enforcing their new laws, regulations, and restrictions.”
“We just won’t enforce or allow their policies, or direct state resources to any federal efforts in Texas,” he clarified.
The Texas Senate has proposed a similar bill, Senate Bill 541, that would accomplish much the same thing. It is still being considered.
Beijing Biden, meanwhile, is under the gun by gun control advocacy groups that want something to be done quickly to make it harder for Americans to purchase firearms and ammunition.
“He doesn’t have all the time in the world,” said Kris Brown, president of the gun control advocacy group Brady, about Biden. “He needs to move forward with legislative changes today, now, because what’s at stake is real human life.”
So far, Biden has unveiled six executive actions that aim to restrict Americans’ access to firearms and ammunition. One of them involves directing the Department of Justice (DoJ) to draft “red flag” laws for states, as well as a new report on firearms trafficking.
Biden’s executive orders also target “ghost guns,” which are made using build-it-yourself kits that do not come with a registration number or background check. Brady is reportedly “thrilled with this announcement from the White House.”
Biden is also calling on the Senate to pass two proposals already passed by the House that would expand background checks for firearms purchases.
“The bill he’s referencing, which would repeal the immunity Congress gave years ago to the gun industry, that is being sponsored, and has been every year in Congress, by the incredible Representative Adam Schiff,” says Brown.
“He is moving forward with reintroducing that bill and we want to hear the president continue to echo and push Congress to act.”
